Messenger Kids - Posts

An exciting update for parents— connecting kids to their friends on Messenger Kids no longer requires that parents become Facebook friends.

Parents are always in control of their child's experience on Messenger Kids. We've heard from many parents that they may not always be Facebook friends with the parents of their children's friends. Today we're making a change to will make it easier for parents to find and invite contacts for your child while keeping the same strong parental controls that have always been at the core of the app.

Now, instead of seeing only your Facebook friends when you go to invite other parents to download the app, you can search by name for the parents of your kid's friends and invite them. And as an added benefit, you don't have to be Facebook friends with the parents of all of your child's contacts.

Parents still have to approve every single contact their child can talk to on Messenger Kids. This change will just make it easier to complete the connections you want to make for your child without having to friend the other parents.

You'll notice this change when you go to invite other parents to download the app from the Messenger Kids controls in your Facebook app.

We hope you enjoy this highly requested change!
