Fed up of Airtel FUP & high prices! Suggestion required for Faridabad area.

@OP

The longer duration plans have 100GB/200GB over the entire duration and not on a per month basis.

Moreover, if you've got a 3G cellphone, test an mtnl prepaid card on that. Test it at different times throughout the day and monitor the signal strength before buying a data card.

Oh. So thats the catch. But I see no issue in it. Because I was never gonna use 200GB per month. I use way less than that.
See lets assume I use 50GB per month. Now that sums up to 600GB in 12 months. If I use 1650 plan I would have to pay 1650x12 = Rs.19800.
Now if I use 4500 for 6 months plan I get 200 Gb for 6 months which according to my consumption of 50GB per month will be consumed in 4 months. So then I recharge again with 4500 and again 4500 for remaing 4 months of that year.
Hence my total bill for 600GB data in a year = Rs.(4500+4500+4500) = Rs. 13500 which is Rs. 6300 lesser than the 1650 plan.
If there is no other catch I already feel like a badass winner. :pirate:
EDIT: Also 4500 for 6 months amounts to 750rs. per month and 200GB = 33.33GB per month. That means I will be getting 33.33GB/month for Rs. 750. My goodness what have I found. Right now I paid around 1700 (with taxes) for 2Mbps for 30GB in Airtel.

For MTNL..First Check Either You are getting good speed or not...with the help of Bsnl sim or if you want With MTNL sim...
In my area I was getting full 6Mbps speed without any fluctuation but after few months that tower getting problem...after completing alot they didnot fixed it..now with bsnl 1445 plan

Yes now the only reason I see of not getting a MTNL connection is the dreaded connectivity issue. I (a hardcore atheist) pray to all those gods that I get good connectivity from MTNL.
I have asked a contact to get a MTNL SIM and would check directly with that using 20 rs. pack .
Anyone from Faridabad sector 7 area to confirm?

Novice question: What does MTNL GSM goes by? I sent someone on my behalf to get a MTNL sim from Sanchaar Haat near IIT gate, Delhi. But they told that MTNL only offers landline services and we have Dolphin GSM. So what sim should I get? As I already mentioned several times in this forum, I intend to use it for 3G, specifically 4500rs. plan.
Two more names I came across were Trump and Garuda. I get that Garuda is for CDMA but this Dolphin/Trump thing is confusing.

Dolphin GSM is what you need. Trump is the name for the prepaid service. But, usually dolphin is the name used for mtnl mobile services.

Ah ok. Dolphin = MTNL mobility divison. Trump = GSM division. Garuda = CDMA division. So I should ask for Dolphin Trump Sim, Right?

MTNL GSM Mobile Services are called Dolphin (postpaid) and Trump (prepaid). It is the same network, just two different names. What your contact needs to ask for is a Dolphin Prepaid SIM. The name Trump is hardly used.
