Panny use to give 3 yrs warranty. My friend's who bought a plasma panny which has 3 yrs warranty. Don't know about the current policy ...

what else is left? Philips? Hitachi? :)
Pansonic :)

I have several Panasonic products in my home now and I am impressed with their build quality and performance

Plasma being one of them and it came with a 3 years warranty.

I have already enjoyed the viewing experience for two years without any issue

have mailed them at customer care id with all job sheets and reciepts.lets see what happens...

ooh that sucks. i think Hitachi we bought for my brother had an AMC option. not sure for how long they offer it though considering the limited life of the display panel.

i guess i would stick with my current plan of not buying an LCD/LED TV looking at how expensive they are and how likely they are likely to fail after a year or two of ownership :\

I bought a toshiba Regza 32inch LCD for 16999 INR, I really also do not find it worth it to buy a LCD/PLASMA/LED tv for the cost they charge like 50k to 100k + and then offering a warranty like 1 year, especially the Sony and samsung ones just come with 1 year and the price is astronomical, like a 60inch plasma from samsung is like 2.20 lac but with a 1 year warranty.

Whats going to happen if it fails after 1 year warranty, do I gotta throw the 2.20 lac TV to a raddhi walla who'll probably pay me 220 bucks?

Best to go for cheap under 20k LCD's and if it can do a year or two and then breakdown is also okay, can go for another one for the next two years.
Like me toshiba 32inch regza of 16999 INR :P

And about the guys who want smart features and smart TV and having to pay crazy price for that.
It's best to take a LCD/PLASMA that isn't a smart tv and cheap, then buy a andriod wi-fi TV box for under 4k and you'll have smarter TV (Andriod PC cum TV cum Wi-FI internet) hehe

oh, sorry to hear your experience. That must be frustrating to have such experience from brand like Sony. When you are paying premium price for brand its expected to give proper customer service.I baught Panasonic lcd 3 years ago, and never had any problem really. I dont even know how much warranty it had.
