well from what i see, Nokia phones are still going to fetch a better deal in the second hand market than samsung or htc. nokia n8's value for money offering is currently unmatchable in the indian market. not everyone cares about the OS their phones are running. they just need a functional phone with good features. nokia n8 has that. the nokia brand does not hurt at all. i realize how popular nokia is when i go to a family function. almost every second guy (uncles and aunts) have a nokia. rich kids would have the iPhone. office going folks would have a blackberry. and geeks like me would have the odd one out... android :|

@admin I agree.

Upgraded firmware to Froyo (2.2). Upgraded via Kies and whole upgrade process took some 15min.
Many features have been added and phone performs faster than 2.1
After upgrading to 2.2, i noticed lag - while opening apps, while scrolling menu. Did a Factory reset and wow the lag issue is goneeee.
Now phone is very fast and smooth.

how to do a factory reset ??
my Galaxy s also lags a lot since i upgraded it to 2.2

Applications>Settings>Privacy>Factory data reset>Click on Reset PhoneData on phone memory will be lost and all settings will be restored to 2.2 Factory settings. But Photos, Videos and some other stuff is not removed even though it is stated.Better you backup data and do a factory reset.

well yeah. when i reset my nexus one before giving it to brian who was purchasing it, the phone felt and performed much better. that was the first time i had resetted the phone in one year of ownership. i guess installation of third party apps, using them for a while adds to the junk causing the slowdown.

@Donthave : I too am lukin to purchase Samsung Galaxy-S i9000(16GB) in Bangalore from the past 2-3 weeks but to no avail.After seeing ur post,i even called up at the forum Samsung showroom..they too say that the model has been stopped although i asked them to take request for my order(still they didn agree as per them the model has been stopped by Samsung :( which i believe is incorrect)@All : Can anybody give me the phone no or the address of the dealer who's selling the same in Bangalore asapCheersAnish

@Anish,Me too faced similar problem when looking for Galaxy S. Could not find a single shop having a Galaxy S. So purchased it on ebay.inSamsung showroom in forum dont have a stock from one month. Phone is not discontinued. Samsung is running short of Super AMOLED screens. Hence low stocks. Try talking to Univercell. They may get one for you.

if the phone is really discontinued it is a bad move to go for it still. i would assume that they would launch nexus s in its place in the coming weeks. patience just might get you a better phone!

@dhananjayk : Actually i dont consider it safe to purchase it from ebay as one of my friend was recently cheated on the same(they packed some old material and sent it to him and he had to face a whole lot of unexpected problems after that).Also,may be buying this phone from ebay may face problems such as unlocking and all.How was ur phone when u got it from ebay?
Also,I had a chat to the Univercell guys,initially they told me that they can place an order for me but later they confirmed it today that its not possible for them

@Admin : Nexus-S is better than Galaxy-S i9000..The only disadvantage (the biggest of them all) which i see with this is that it doesn have micro sd slot and it has only 16GB's space

haha. well. i guess every person has his own opinion. i believe 16GB is more than enough for me. but yeah. you are right on that part. :P
