Finally set-up Pi-hole on my network

@ponnitheunreal Do update the thermal stats after 24*7 usage. I have heard Orange Pi Zero LTS is poor in heat management.

@lucifer its been running for 3 hours now and temp is 46 in ssh and 51 on pihole admin so I’m not sure which is true.

@ponnitheunreal Are you using it naked or using the official enclosure? Can you upload pictures of your setup?

Just naked. Connect to routers usb for power. My network area is very shabby and dusty . So no pics, sorry.
It’s 512mb variant.

my main purpose was to try to run Plex server on it for direct play.

@ponnitheunreal Are you using it with JioFiber? If yes, does the landline work when you change the DNS to pihole DNS in the router/ONT?

@lucifer no I’m not using it with jiofiber and even if I use jio fiber I’m not going to change the ont’s dns cause I have separate dual router D-Link and I’m using that as main router and hathway is connects to its wan. So irrespective of Isp I use the poa will always be dlink. And FYI I have also installed Plex media server and it direct plays all 4K flawlessly. But issue is the temp hits 70 when direct stream from Plex. Rest of the time It’s only in mid 40s.

any list to block youtube ads?

It was possible before but you cant block them now as it uses same domain to serve videos & ads. Using adblock on Chrome does get rid of them easily.

Something interesting to fire tv stick owners. It seems Amazon is adding an extra dns server.

1. First two DNS are from my router DHCP.

2. My Ont has a different (opendns server ip.

3. Netflix app on my TV has only two entries.

4. The only place Google DNS is mentioned in my network is the checkbox on the pihole.
