From earning a cashback of Rs 1,666 on a deposit of Rs 4,999 to earning a whopping Rs 7,50,000 cashback in the bank account by depositing just Rs 59,999 in the TalkCharge wallet.

When will people learn?

The total wallet balance including my and my family members’ money was Rs 1.19 crore.

Why would you deposit so much money into a damn wallet?

Also I wonder once the culprit gets arrested, do people ever get their money back?
 
sometimes yes... rumors are rbi is getting banks to use the funds orphaned by people over the years. the amount is crazy so it is easy for them to refund smallish amounts. crores? probably not. a lakh or two? happens. one of my relative got 2L back randomly without any intimation by cops or bank. they did file proper police reports and stuff.
 

each one of these folks should be made to sit through a 2 week course on how to not get fooled by online scams. people are made to suffer more in case of a minor traffic violation these days.
