Full Speeds on Ethernet Vs Low Speed on Wifi

Hi All,

I've been using Excitel since couple of months, however the internet speed on LAN is consistent, but on Wi-Fi it is not.

Excitel - Plan - 300 mbps, Lan Speed - 300, Wi-Fi Speed(Netgear AC1750 Router) - 120 - 250 mbps, rarely I get 300+.

Jio Fiber - 1499 Plan and every single time I run Speed test over Wi-Fi, I'm getting 300-315 mbps speeds.

Question (Dumb may be) - Does the quality of data packets, quality of internet affects Wi-Fi Speeds?? On Jio Fiber, with exact same environment, same router same settings I'm getting continuous full speeds. (Excitel Internet-> Dummy ONT -> AC1750 Router & Jio Fiber -> Jio Router -> AC1750 (For testing I connect this router))

Nope, some routers do give you full speeds but some don't (on wifi). I personally sometimes get around 380 Mbps speeds on wifi on the main excitel router but because it's not used as much as my other access points which give me continuous 440 Mbps it's not an issue for me.

Your best bet would be to get it replaced and hopefully it will fix it. I have replaced my routers twice (total of 3) the first and second one always gave me speeds shooting up to 600 Mbps in the beginning and around 300-400 as per plan but the latest one doesn't go above 380-390 Mbps. Try changing your router
