First episode was a painful watch and based on reviews, the entire season is just for folks who were huge fans of the original and just want something that did not change at all compared to that series.

I am now realizing how bad the original show was. I hope Netflix does not redo Happy Days or Cheers.

You cannot compare now - It was ok for those times & mindsets & the audience.

I am pretty sure movies like Sholay would be deemed unwatchable if made with current stars & with the exact same stuff.

This was even worse. But even if it was made more close to the original, it would have still not met with a positive response.

I mean... Look at Better Call Saul. Sure Breaking Bad is only a year or two old so there is not much of a break... But there is enough scope for a similar theme with different style of presentation while retaining continuity

but i guess full house is not the kind of show which actually had anything. i am sure if they decided to do a season of friends... it would be terrible. Seinfeld on the other hand... has a lot of potential.
