Hi.. I am planning to buy Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 LTE.
The website mentions that for its LTE to work, you need:
1. Samsung smartphone and
2. Airtel (postpaid) /Jio (postpaid/prepaid) connection.

I don't have a Samsung smartphone (using OP 7 PRO) and am currently on Airtel prepaid. Has anyone on this forum had an experience to make this combo work on the watch? Any workarounds or tips would be appreciated.

I read a few articles where people were able to use it with jio on ANY android smartphone. However, I don't want to move to jio and airtel postpaid would be too much based on my current usage.

Suggestions welcome.

That seems to be again some commercial agreement or setup.. Probably with samsung.
The watch can do everything with a non Samsung phone only the Lte bit is upto the carrier and when you try to activate the error is on airtels end... Technically there is no constrain... Both the postpaid and Samsung phone requirements are purely commercially drivenby airtel.

Yes, I did enquire. Did a lot of research too.
Dropped emails, called 121 - no help from anywhere. Attaching my conversation with their twitter team below. Please don't laugh on it.

You can try the workaround that I suggested in post 14 in case you want to use it with Airtel postpaid on a non samsung phone.

The watch is excellent. Superb screen. No connectivity issues, accurate tracking. Battery life is about 1.5 days. Can't say much about storage because I am not much into storing music or installing a lot of apps. Just use it for fitness tracking, with the default apps and a few additional watchfaces. Didn't face any issue so far. It is the best android smartwatch that you can buy. One minor gripe would be that it doesn't always turn on the screen when you lift your wrist, Apple watch always does.

Go ahead and purchase it. I think it is the only android smartwatch which supports LTE

Hello , I got a watch active 2 from the US. The lte will work only on JIO.
If you have airtel, the plan will be loaded, however it wont show lte. Mind you for Airtel , you will need a postpaid and only Samsung phone.
For Jio, prepaid works , any phone works, LTE is activated.
Steps: Just open the samsung watch app and setup plan option. Rest happens automatically.
