Hi all,

I am using BSNL 500C plan.
I didnt use the internet for last 10 days, as I went out of home. Yesterday I came back and I noticed I am getting slow speed.

I made a speed test. Shows results of 500KbPS :(

What happened to my connection. Before leaving home I got good speed. You can see my old Speedtest results below ( in my signature).

Location: Hyderabad-Kukatpally.

1. Do you use wifi ? Is your wireless connection encrypted ? 2. Post your SNR and attenuation values.3. Mention modem - model and make.4. Clear browser cache and try.5. Check with another browser. 6. Disable firewall / antivirus and check.

1. Yes I use WiFi. Security : 64 bit WEP

2. SNR: SNR (Downstream) 7.60 dB
SNR (Upstream) 7.0 dB
Line Attentuation(Downstream) 11.5 dB
Line Attentuation(Upstream) 6.5 dB
Note: SNR values are same (approx) previously also.

3. Model Name AN1020-21 (New one from BSNL)
4. I cleared caches regularly, uses Ccleaner also.
5. Tried with Chrome, Firefox, IE.
6. Also done by disabling AV. Bitdefender 2011.

The same Laptop, same programs, same way of connection (WiFi), Nothing Changed in Router/anywhere, same before leaving home (10 days ago) and now also.

1. Disable wifi and check2. SNR is a bit low. Wonder how it performed well previously. Try fixing your line. 3. If nothing works, reset the modem and reconfigure it.

I made several complaints regarding this from 4 days.
They called back today and they gave a no. I made it.
The person answered " The min speed of 500C is 256Kbps you are getting 500Kbps, If you have below 256Kbps we can do anything."
What a bullshit answer.
Simply closed the complaints.

Just taken the connection 1month before. Get fructuated with this one.
Any suggesstions for getting back my speed?

Today Found new Parameters: SNR (Downstream) 14.80 dB SNR (Upstream) 26.5 dB Line Attentuation(Downstream) 40.0 dB Line Attentuation(Upstream) 19.5 dB The Speed somewhat increased from 500Kbps to nearly 1Mbps.What happened? How can i get my speed of 2Mbps back?
