Gigabit Experience on One Broadband

Tried this ISP out in South West Delhi (Janakpuri area) and it is not half bad. Also know this ISP from Mumbai, similarly good experience. I think in Delhi they can be a good competitor to ACT and Excitel. So far everything I have seen indicates Tata is the upstream.

It is my LCO. He's dumbhead otherwise the ISP backend is okayish.

@XLR8R It's a failover config with Tata as Primary and Airtel backup. The incoming traffic can come by either.

Every week im getting an inch closer to disconnect oneb,
Even on 100mbps plan im getting at max 15mbps speed and I'll be starting my college from 19th so don't really want to invest time fixing their end of this speed issue.


I'm looking for other operators now in my locality, Jio/airtel aren't available. A local cable guy is there with bandwidth from Softcall

@TheNuttyNet I have JioFiber 1Gbps connection and I get 600-650 Mbps at peak hours, and close to 800Mbps at max in both DL/UL speeds. I used to get 940Mbps till Jan 2024, and after that, couldn't hit that high due to full capacity in the entire area (4 Jumbo boxes of 8 connections full).

@IfranAli Sorry i was on gigabit plan several months back now im on 100mbps plan since 2months

And I'm unable to get even 50mbps at times.

@TheNuttyNet I do feel bad for your experience, but these Tier-2 and 3 ISPs can never reach the level of Tier-1 ISPs no matter what.

@IfranAli I mostly get 920-940Mbps download speed on JioFiber as well. Upload speed is limited due to a different ONT but from my tests, that was also the same.

Meanwhile my local ISP can't even provide 200Mbps mostly. ._. It works far better in web browsing though, especially on sites using Cloudflare free CDN but having Indian/Singapore server.

@Zuke My ONT is the JCO4032 variant, and is quite old as well. On top of that, my ONT is freaking HOT, and I really mean it. My ONT might be the reason for this, but at night also, I rarely get 850Mbps speeds, let alone 940Mbps. And yes, LCO are always trash, but my LCO is great lol. Getting 295Mbps on a 300Mbps connection without any issues at all.

@IfranAli That's nice. Here most use 50Mbps plan, so the local broadband guys have no reason to improve things.
