this phone is awesome and its featured with octacore processors and scores the highest benchmark as compare to any other phone which is great for multitasking and games, i hope it will come down in a cheaper price sooner...

LTE is not for the Indian market. So you won't see that here officially. You may write to Gionee support to get the LTE version with warranty for you personally. They might respond.
OR Grey market without warranty OR ebay international
Btw, some seller listed the 3 GB Indian version for :r: 28.9k on ebay Indian. With the ebay coupons you could get another 500- 750 Off. So 28k for 3 GB is a decent deal IMO

Can someone help me understand if it really useful to have 3 GB RAM on a mobile phone or is it just to make the phone specs looks good?

Not necessary for an avg user. But if you love multi tasking (Ex if you have these things opened in the background, HD game paused, Browser minimized with a bunch of tabs open, wifi, gps, Data, widgets & few apps at startup, music player minimized, video paused when you use camera to shoot). 3 GB comes handy.
Btw, 3 GB could the be maximum one could get for the next 1- 2 yrs until ARM 64bit architecture is out. As 32bit arm can't support more than 3- 3.5 GB RAM right now
