I also don't know about gaming but whatsapp calling, when my friend calls me using mtnl broadband(wireline) and when from mts cdma(wireless).

And latency matters both in gaming and voip. So my guess is not wrong shown by ping of x720.
Though wireless is more prone to congestion than wireless but for that I was asking to test for few days before committing.
