Awesome update. Google would now open a popup on your phone and you can just press yes to authenticate yourself! This is pretty awesome. I have always wondered why Google does not just use the fingerprint sensor of the phones for logins on a computer. It is a great way to add passwordless signins inside a web browser!

also microsoft was offering me the same and wanted me to download their mail app. i said, no thank you.

Yahoo or Microsoft cannot offer this feature without you having one of their apps installed on your phone right? Google doesn't have that issue on Android platform.

It basically negates the need to open Google Authenticator for Android users.
