i have resetted my phone twice after installing lollipop. turning on encryption was a very bad idea. it basically fucked up the phone. reviews have already confirmed that nexus 6 with encryption has terrible data reading/writing speeds :D

I somehow had a gut feeling that encryption will turn things ugly, so never tried :D

having it on by default is a very good decision. though i am guessing it would be stupid of them to remove the option to disable it. so i guess when you get the device, disable encryption if available before setting up the device :D

I was reading about it few days ago. The only way right now is to flash a modified kernel which disables encryption.
