awww. what free services are no longer free from google? google apps was never aimed for the general users. it was aimed at small businesses, startups, educational institutes and so on. they were liberal with the free accounts on the standard account. they are now a little less liberal. but from what i see, it does not really amount to reduction of free services to the common web user.

heh. it is a decision that needs to be taken by your system/network administration and the management bodies.

Fair possibility that it could be pronounced 'virus' by the management and administration bodies

eventually they would come to their senses. for a university of their size, it is best to outsource email. are they able to handle server load during admissions and result announcements ?

They don't announce results like NOS and CBSE, enter the roll number and get the result.They just upload the lists to weird directories resulting low server load. hehe.
