Google Contacts syncing problem on Android

@Toocool Happened the same to me, no way to get it back. Other time, by mistake when I synced google account in new rom, I said to keep local data. I lost all the Gmail contacts from 2003, most were some good ones whom I used to follow in Google reader.From then on, I have backup of every contact, both of phone and email...

man google is as ****ed as shit....................after i reported the issue here, i saved some more contacts to my mail id and synced , and then i installed darkys rom...................and guess what.even the google id saved and synced contacts are again missing:001wub::disturbed::no:google will rot in hell now for sure

i have never had issues with google syncing my contacts. i can format my phone right now and all would work out well. have managed it just fine over four devices. i am not sure how custom roms behave with contact syncing. i usually save new contacts or update existing ones on the web inside google contacts and all the data is properly synced to the phone. google android also syncs contact just fine with google+ user information. so either your custom roms are creating a problem. or you are not really connecting with google for syncing. one thing is for sure... there are no problems with google contacts syncing in android at least on nexus range of devices. also. android lets you export your contacts to a csv file on the phone. you can export that file. upload it to Dropbox or google drive. and keep a copy saved in case there are any other hassles. and just import the same file after moving to a new rom. from what i see, you are blaming google for issues that could very well be connected to touchwiz or custom ROMs.

@chromy..........i just now used custom rom, not before and i found it out even before, that is in the afternoon itself(i was on stock rom then) , and on stock i saved some contacts on google mail id and synced them and now again after custom rom no my contacts are vanished(the new ones)

I guess the sync was not complete when you tried to search for that contacts.
