Google, OpenDNS, Cloudflare DNS with Airtel XStream Fiber feels very slow.

I just looked into the stats, and currently using EXCITEL gives me average processing time : 9ms.
with Airtel its always 50ms +.
Any idea why?

Facing the same thing here in Mumbai.

Airtel with Root name servers and unbound DNS is giving me average processing time of 66ms to 200ms.

I switched back from Google/Cloudflare DNS to unbound DNS with root name servers.

I guess Airtel is not caring for their reputation nowadays.
Shit pings to international servers.
Too much routing problems lately, and now this.

Also, Quad9 DNS is in ByPass mode in Mumbai, India i.e. Traffic is routing to the next closest location which is Singapore. Quad9 DNS pings aren't great either.

try NextDNS anycast once, DoH, do not go for DoT.

Is 300,000 queries each month enough ? what do u think?

With NextDNS setup within pfSense, I can delete my 2 AdGuard Home Virtual Machines

for single device yes. even for 2-3 devices it should be fine. router level might not work. so if you don't want to pay, just keep two accounts and share between devices.

I crossed 300k queries in about 15 days.
Actually, its my father, mother and me using internet and NextDNS was setup at router level, so not a big deal to cross 300k queries.
I would have liked nextdns more if the queries were unique.
