It's a shame OneDrive is so poor for photo backup since the 1TB plan from Microsoft is so much more VFM.

I mean, I literally cry downloading photos from OneDrive as the download speeds (browser) are 500 KB/s on a 200 mbps connection.

Try mobile data. I have single onedrive account on all the devices in home.
One central place to backup pics. Also onedrive clean up is performing well now.
Access on desktop browser is better.

microsoft photos app crashes a lot if you use it as a photo gallery app for onedrive photos. delete and a few other options are disabled on most photos as well. the app is slightly better these days.

My wife got hers delivered today.

Seems really nice but the aluminium camera frame looks like it will get scratched easily. The glass one in the 6 Pro was better. Wide angle camera is now thankfully 0.5x instead of 0.6x in the 6 Pro. Screen seems more vivid as well but not as much as my Samsung S22u. Hopefully the battery life is better now.
