They should at least release lower part of it for wifi and probably develop 60ghz for wifi. Lower part of 6ghz is stuck because of power level. Motabhai wants high power levels to cash on UBR technology
 
If the tech giants can give more money to center , more than even the Reliance then only something can happen.
 
The problem with prioritizing telecom over WiFi is in-building coverage. No matter how much spectrum you give telcos, their coverage will be sub par inside buildings, and spectrum that can provide indoor coverage, cannot deliver speeds. From an overall coverage pov, its better to have a wide wifi band for indoor coverage, then rely on cellular if wifi is not available, for relatively lower bandwidth requirements. But no, Ambani/Mittal wants more spectrum. Lets ruin the experience for everyone.
 
they want to hoard spectrum as spectrum holds value and they would rather do nothing with the said spectrum than to let it be unlicensed as the spectrums are an “asset” class to them.
 
So let me get this straight, all these spectrum will be like a future investment right, like how some AI companies are hoarding RAM then might release it in future at exorbitant prices 🥀 :cry:
 
yes pretty much, lobbyists won consumers lose. for a densely populated area like india opening 6ghz band entirely would have been extremely fruitful. 5ghz band is already choked after ISPs started flooding the market with no dfs dual band APs causing 36-48 and 149-161 bands in 5ghz range almost always unusable. As to why telcos lobbyied hard to keep 6ghz band to themselves is not to release/sell it to others but simply is a cost cutting measure as almost all RANs used currently have support till ~7.125ghz hence making it easier for them to repurpose it for future 6g access or in the case of Jio probably UBR.
 
6g over 6ghz tech would be very costly, they just want to delay delicencing activity as delicenced 6ghz might bring in new disruptive player in ISP segment. Revolutionary things can be done when you delicence 6ghz and 60ghz. 5g monetization is long from now, again couple of price rises for mobile subribers to fill in pokets of these giants
 
I'm thinking will they be able to milk customers just like that. Many people, even the non enthusiasts are frustrated by Jio and Airtel bodmashi. Hope BSNL will make a comeback soon so that we can ditch these. :cry:
