Now, This show is coming to India, courtesy Starworld.
Letterman weeknights on Star World
FANS of chat-show king David Letterman will now be able to enjoy Late Night with David Letterman on Star World (Astro Channel 711) from Aug 17.
Broadcast from New York City’s legendary Ed Sullivan Theatre, the show will be aired weeknights at 11pm.
“Star World is thrilled to bring Late Night With David Letterman to our audiences across Asia,” said Jennifer Batty, vice-president of programming for Star World.
She added that Star World has secured the rights to telecast the show throughout Southeast Asia and India.
To celebrate the launch, Star World will present the best of Letterman’s just-aired season 16, featuring 27 episodes.
The A-list line-up of guests include Julia Roberts (Aug 18), Zac Efron (Aug 19 ), Beyoncé (Aug 24), Dolly Parton (Aug 27), Tom Hanks (Sept 2) and Denzel Washington (Sept 10) .
The all-new 17th season debuts on Sept 23, premiering only 48 hours after the US telecast.
Since launching his show in 1992, Letterman has reigned as the undisputed champion of chat shows. Over the years, he has interviewed the biggest names in film, television, politics and sports.
With his signature Top 10 List, hidden-camera pranks, surprise guest appearances and irreverent humour, he helped redefine the talk-show format.
