Guidance on purchasing a top load washing machine!

so the LG front load has become a pain. too much vibration and moves around. got lg guy and he did the realignment and stuff. and said that if it still moves around, he would need to change legs and gasket. that visit cost me around 1000 bucks and the two parts he suggested would add another 4-5K. i am not really interested in spending 5K more on this machine. though it is barely 4 years old. i have already been running the rinse cycle at 800rpm since i got it because of the moving around issue. the realignment did not really solve the problem as it still vibrates a lot. lg folks really do not like opening up the machine to see if internals are damaged or anything. or maybe on direct drive, there is really nothing to replace except for the whole drum? anyways.

planning to get a basic top loader this time around. should cost <20K and should do the job. haven't used one in a long time so not sure what i am getting into. just looking for some guidance on why top loaders are not good and why they are probably good. i would again probably get a lg model. known devil in the end. if there is another brand i should consider, do mention that as well.

i imagine top loaders do not tend to move around a lot during the rinse cycle. vibrations are going to be there

God so much compromise in top load. Probably would get a Samsung this time around. LG is too pricey

I believe you had mentioned that you kept your machine in the bathroom, right? The pads are never going to have friction to hold the machine in its place.

The wash quality is anytime better with a FL than a TL.
Regardless, if you are going to do the laundry, then try for an IFB FL or any machine which relies of conventional belt and pulley system. If it's your mom, or any elderly person, then TL is a way to go.

DD or any machine with motor attached directly to the drum is like an electric car. They provide instant power and maybe the structure cannot seem to handle that much power. Conventional mechanism is like a petrol engine. The power transfer from motor to the drum is more gradual unlike the jerks in DD machine.

Machine area doesn't really get wet. So water related slippery issue is not a problem. Problem is probably tiles and slope maybe for drainage.

But yeah humidity does cause rust damage on the body after a few years. Also honestly my back is not in good shape. Top load definitely seems convenient

You know, we Indians are thrown for a toss just because the companies feel the margin is very less. I recall LG USA has this pedestal thing which raises the height of your FL so you don't bend your back. Nothing here. I mean you get those wheels pedestal, but that's about it. Hardly 1-2 inch height from ground. If you can get a pedestal made of desired height, nothing like it. Best of both worlds.

Yeah, the slope of the flooring can wreak havoc with the machine dynamics. Imagine keeping tabs on all these things when constructing a new house!!

Should you still go for a TL, then go for those who have the ability to heat the water. The detergent powder is more effective in hot water than plain water, atleast you need it to be 40C. Do note that your electricity and water bill will go for a toss given the energy TL needs to heat 90L of water versus 5L in FL

Considering the winters at my place, the wash quality is meh at best. I used a Samsung TL semi automatic before getting IFB TL. Cold water just cannot dissolve the detergent properly. Delhi winters mein toh..

TL with heating function- Whirlpool, Panasonic and IFB. Budget dekh Lena.

Oh boy. I was underestimating the amount of water top load use. I would have to change how frequently I wash my cloths now.

lol how do cloths even get clean in a top loader? there is no patkoing against the metal drum taking place here. from what i see, cloths are just dancing around in soapy water. compared to front loader where clothes are repeatedly banged on the metal drum, this one feels like a joke. and since running an extra rinse cycle means wasting another drum full of water, i really doubt i am getting all/most the soap out of the cloths in any case... by god, this is really not a great way of washing clothes lol. anyways. at least the washing machine is not dancing around. i guess the rpm of drum is lower than even 400rpm which was the lowest on my previous front loader.

I am also skeptical about all the things you mentioned since long, therefore, i am unable to convince myself to buy a top loader till date.
