Has Airtel discontinued their 200 Mbps plan?

@TungaBunga I was wondering the same. I saw people talking about it in one other forum, but that's also extreme minority in number. Nothing on Reddit or X.
THIS is exactly how...why etc etc companies are able to get away doing these sh*tty things.....cuz people are hardly bothered....similar thing happened to TRAI mandated non data plans

most of users dont even have setup to run proper 4K, even many of my family members and friends, happy with 480/720p max.
whereas i consume other 4 TB per month, lol.
3 different relatives of mine use 30 mbps from jio and they are happy with that, here's me not even happy with 1 Gbps (Sometimes) xD.
So yeah, even if JIO remove 150 mbps, no will complaint.
By the way i was reading in other forum that current removal of 200 mbps plan is for only new user or who want to change their plan to 200mbps, cant do it.
Existing users, won't affect and will continue to use 200 mbps plan as long as they are keeping that. And i think it is all because of slow speed plans offers on Air Fiber and users are heavily opting that.

@TungaBunga It is Mobile plan? Since Basic plan had 720p, I got it from JioFiber too.
@Vickey007 Netflix's 720p quality is great, honestly. Obviously, you will notice it easily if you're used to high quality, but for regular folks, it is fairly usable.
One bad thing though... only one screen is available.
Fun Fact: You can easily upgrade the plan even with TV. My father somehow managed to upgrade the plan unknowingly to Standard because he couldn't watch Netflix, since my brother left Netflix open in his PC. I was like- have Jio started providing Standard plan with Rs. 1499 plan? And then Jio mailed me that they will be charging me for it. xD
One bad thing though... only one screen is available.

I was on the TPF 200 Mbps Plan initially and switched to 100 Mbps plan recently. My parents live with me and their use case is pretty normal, OTT streaming and WhatsApp. We have a 4K TV, 2 Work Stations(A Macbook Pro and a windows laptop) and 3 Smartphones. We also have smart ACs which are connected to the WiFi. Me and my Dad mostly work from home and we use internet all the time.
I connect my Mac using a ethernet port instead of Wifi while all other clients connect using the router itself. To be very honest, apart from the download speeds, my experience is pretty much the same even on the 100 Mbps Plan. Nobody in my house noticed the downgrade in speed.
I still get 200-250 Mbps of download speeds on steam servers but I hardly play games now so it doesn't matter to me.
Although the number of clients are less, we use quite a lot of bandwidth throughout the day. Almost 60-70GB(as per TPF app). This data consumption has remained constant for both 200Mbps and 100Mbps plan. It's not like we are using less data due to the downgraded speed.
So in my experience, unless you are a heavy downloader, having a higher speed plan doesn't really improve the overall internet usage experience. Modern routers are capable of providing good connection to the clients even on low speed plans.

Exactly. Having the option is what matters and not everyone wants a bunch of OTT that they won't even watch / extra speed they won't even use.

They should probably have kept the basic fiber plans and introduced the dth/IPTV/ott stuff in Black. But greedy airtel only grows greedier.
