Has anyone "flashed" the Huawei mt800 modem?

Has anyone 'flashed' the Huawei MT 800 modem to a new firmware version? Any need to do that? Or any reason to avoid it?I would like to upgrade the firmware but I'm worried they might disable some features or something!edit: I saw a firmware update on the Huawei website a few weeks ago, hence the question...

Yep Gaurav I saw it on the Huawei website somewhere a few weeks ago... (same place I downloaded the modem manual PDF)..Sushubh, what did you edit out of the post above? Was it the "quote"? hehePeople just love to quote, eh? Maybe you can disable the quote when they click "reply" button... I use "fast reply" anyways..

The new firmaware upgrade is for MT880 modem(ADSL2+) and not for MT800.If you are using MT880 modem download the new firmware, it helps only in diagnostics as per the website.

Guys I have flashed my mt880now the flashrom is dated 4.2005The admin page has got few more optionsand I think modem is much more stable now

Can anybody tell me from where to get the latest firmware for Huawei MT880. The link on the admin page does not work, and there is no information on the Huawei website. My firmware details areCurrent Firmware Version: V200R001C01B020 Firmware Date: Jul 16 2004 Anybody else using a newer version, or this is the only thing that was ever released.

And how to see the administrator page ?

Goto "192.168.1.1". From there Tools->Firmware upgrage.
