SD box is availale for 750 bucks. Go for the Skyworth box and not the Cisco one.
I Second that.
I doubt they sell the cisco one yet, but if they do avoid it. I had the cisco hathway stb before i shifted to Airtel HD. Am back on Hathway HD now and thought would get the cisco box activated as a second connection. The mumbai network has been upgraded or something and the cisco doesn't work anymore. They are refusing to upgrade it and I have to buy a new one. So its lying as a brick with me now. And even when I used it, it used to be quite problematic with frequent hangs and crashes as someone else has noted here. Best avoided.
Whats the point of using a VC card for hathway connection? Everyone gets all the channels(all SD/HD) depending on the type of their STB. There is no requirement to block channels like in DTH services. Then why do the require VC, why not allow all channels like in Analog Cable?

If it is not used for 3 months, the MAC gets erased from Hathway database. You just call them and say you were out of town for that long and its not working now. Ask them to re-activate it. Its a 1 minute job and can be done over the phone. I had got the same done for my neighbour.

No man, they refused to do it. They said it wasn't possible. Took my box with them. Returned after a couple of days saying they could not upgrade it to a new one nor get this to work.
Anyways their multi-connection scheme of 60 bucks (150 for most DTH operators) per additional connection to get all channels of 1st connection has been withdrawn too. I had to pay full subscription for the next box as well. So using my Airtel HD box on the other tv now.

ESPN and Star Cricket HD added in Wadala also (non-CAS, Mumbai). Totally 16 HD channels. They have removed UTV Stars HD and History HD. Zee Cinema HD, Nat Geo Adventure HD and Trace Channels were never available here.
