Just realised pre approved doesn't mean jack shit. Had a call+message from Kotak last week saying, I'm pre approved for their credit card and all I have to do is accept using their app. Did the same and two days ago, the application status says declined.

Called CC for the stupidity, and she said pre approved doesn't mean anything, and after you apply it's the normal standard procedure.

File a case against kotak then, for f**king up the cibil score. If u have the recordings and mail then you'll win the case

wait what? so if your credit card request gets declined, it affects your credit score??

my Amazon icici card request was declined a few weeks ago.

My HDFC regalia cc is all fine for now ig.

In my case pre-approved has always meant pre-approved.

Maybe Kotak HDFC is using this term for easy applications.

Yes, realised the same some years ago. Pre-approved card emails come but the application process is exactly like regular application, nothing pre-approved about it.

That's Uday Kotak for us.

HDFC, however, gave me pre-approved card and that meant pre-approved. Branch called me telling we have a list with your name on it, I could apply online and saw pre-approved Business MoneyBack Card, I took the offer and provided no documentation. Card was received in 7 days.

I have a regalia credit card. Looks like for online shopping Millinia is better than regalia, shoud i downgrade the card?
