I am looking for a good and stable broadband especially for browsing. Currently I am using Jio 4g but the service is not good for browsing purpose. It is great for torrents and YouTube. Right now I selected 2 broadband ISP's and I want your advice regarding that. Please consider that I want broadband connection for browsing purpose and it contains Indian as well as foreign websites.
The first one is SITI broadband, newly launched in my city and my neighbor got it installed. The SITI broadband is working on coaxial cable technology. Their plan is 5 mbps UL for 699+taxes. I tested it and the results were good. While on speedtest.net I got 25ms ping (Gurgaon-Delhi server auto selected), 5mbps download speed and 1 mbps upload speed. And on pingtest.net I got D* as connection quality. And on speedtest.net when I selected Abbeville, US server the pings were more than 300ms. It was around 325-335ms but the upload and download speed remained the same.
The second one is WOW Experience broadband and they are also new in the city. Wow Experience is not well known like SITI or BSNL and one cannot find much information about them on internet. I went to their office in the evening reluctantly because I was inclined towards SITI broadband after testing it. But to my surprise the results were somewhat better. Their plans are little expensive compared to SITI as they are offering 2mbps UL for 699+ taxes and 4mbps UL for 899+taxes. Their installation chargers are also higher compared to SITI.
WOW broadband installation charges--4500. (I will have to buy their Airgrid device)
SITI broadband installation charges--1800. (DOCSIS modem included)
Now coming to results I got c* as connection quality on pingtest.net and on speedtest.net Abbeville, US server selected I got 250-255ms ping. Their server is located in Karnataka and when I selected Gurgaon server on speedtest.net I got 54ms ping. This result is of 4mbps connection and both the download and upload speed was 4mbps. The connection was looking more stable compared to SITI. This result was at their office-LAN cable connected to my laptop.
Some more clarifications--WOW Experience broadband tower is around 0.5 km for my home so I think the Airgrid signal should be pretty strong.
Query-How is this Airgrid broadband quality compared to coaxial cable network.
Now what is your pick for the broadband connection for me? Please suggest.
BTW JIO 4g is giving me F* on pingtest.net and 500+ms ping on speedtest.net Abbeville, US server selected with 20kBps download and 25 kBps upload. While server auto selected it is great and for YouTube, playstore and torrent it is great.
