Hi, I am facing a weird problem with my Airtel SIM
I think they have barred me from using 5G
I have Samsung F23 5G phone with latest update (Android 13 + One UI 5)
Recently Airtel started their 5G service in my city (Lucknow)
People around me with 5G phone and airtel sim are getting 5G icon next to network icon
but I'm getting only 4G or 4G+
I thought maybe my phone needed a software update or something so I checked Airtel Thanks app and it shows my phone is 5G ready!
Then I swapped my SIM with another airtel user and boom 5G icon was showing on my phone
I tried this with 3 different airtel SIMS... (One SIM was in Roaming and One was dead but still connect to network)
All of them showed 5G icon on my phone
I put my SIM in other 5G phones but it only showed 4G or 4G+
I thought my SIM might be old or corrupt, So I went to airtel store and replaced my SIM
AGAIN NO 5G
Did some research and found an app called Netmonster which can show network details
I found that Airtel has restricted me from using 5G
I installed netmonster in my friends' phones, they're not restricted!!
So, that means only my number is restricted.
My questions are..
WHY.. Why am I being restricted?
How can I explain all this to Airtel Support- Tried explaining them on twitter..Now they've stopped responding my DMs.
Is it possible to fix this issue in phone's setting or developer's setting?
