Help me set up wireless network in home

Hi team, I have just finished installing a broadband network in my home through my local cable wala.I basically have a plug-in point in the wall from where a patch cord connects to my laptop andI get my internet service. I would like your advice as to how I can set up a wireless network in home as I am buying a PC also and want to make other rooms in my house wi-fi compatible for laptops. I think I need to buy a Wireless G router and connect the present broadband cable into it and then set up the wireless network for laptops. In the maket I have heard products like Linksys and D-Link. Can you please advice in detail what to buy , the approx cost and how to go about the installation?
