A good choice for all in one. D-Link makes some stable hardwares. Just ensure that you are on the latest firmware for any router or modem. The hardware usually ships with older firmwares.A firmware update fixes a lot of issues.
When i saw iball baton modem wifi router, some people said that Belkin n150 has connection drops often, in flipkart. Is it true?? Which is best Belkin n150 or iball baton n150??
Sorry I took so long to reply. I'm sorry I've never seen the iBall Baton N150 so I won't be able to comment on it but my Belkin N150 never has any connection drops, and its on 24x7.

That is true, but never buy the DSL 2730u (which is in the Belkin N150's price range) I had it once and the range is absolutely pathetic.........

sorry for jumping on the thread. I have an oldish DSL-502T ADSL modem+router in working order (touchwood) for almost 7 years now.
The only issue with the DSL-502T is it has only a single ethernet port (and one USB port) . From what little I have seen of D-Link's site lately it seems they have stopped manufacturing the 2/4 port ADSL modem + routers that they were doing before.
The only issue with this I face is it gets heated in anywhere between 12/24 hours and loses connection. Then I disconnect and connect again in another 20 minutes when it cools down and it's ready to service for another 12/24 hours. I'm thinking to buy a lappy in next couple of months so having a second port would be good.
I am not so bent about wireless as I'll have to make it secure and generally would have to take a bit more responsibility then I would like to take. With ethernet outside people can't get access (arguably the best access control policy) . Just my 2 paise in the ring. Looking forward to recommendations. Brownie points if they can work with dd-wrt/tomato and easily purchasable in the market.
1) Get hold of a WiFi modem which has 4 port LAN and RJ-11 for WAN. This router/modem will also have WiFi as an additional feature. You can connect upto 4 devices via Ethernet wiring and rest via WiFi (smartphones for eg.)
2) Use a single port ADSL modem like you are doing presently. And connect it to a 4port or 8port ethernet switch. This will allow you to connect 4/8 machines to the ADSL modem. This will allow wired access amongst all local PC's/Laptops.
