Help Needed to pick a router

Dear members ,

Was seeking some guidance , I have a 300 Mbps Airtel FTTH connection and have the airtel provided Huwaei HG8145v , I have given the layout below of where I want the max wifi coverage in the house . The Hall where the device is kept is around 400 sq Ft . Im only using the 5 Ghz

The issue is coming up that :

1. In the smaller room (130 sq Ft) on the right , Im getting about 220 Mbps with door open and 160 Mbps with door closed
2. In the larger room on the left (200 sq Ft) , the 5 Ghz is not usable with door closed , with door open as you go more into the room ( The tv is at the farthest end ), again the the 5Ghz becomes unusable for streaming -- speeds progressively decrease from 60 ... 40 ... 20 and then dissappear.


I do my 4k streaming in the hall and it works very well ( Infact anywhere in the hall i get instant 340 mbps in speed tests in all apps)

My question is

1.Will an archer c6 or Archer A10 or similar ( can extend upto 7-8k in budget ) allow me to get 300 speeds in the smaller room and 150 ish speeds in the larger room ?
2. Is my existing Huwaei HG8145v outdated , it doesn't seem to have any antennae - can I ask Airtel to replace this maybe. Although it does allow 5 Ghz channels in 36 , 44 , 48 etc - so it could come in handy incase I opt for just a router solution and use some extenders.

Mesh is a good option. TP-Link Deco M4 is a good deal and I think it should be able to give you decent speeds across your house. If you can run ethernet cables between the mesh units, that will be the best.

I'm using Netgear Orbi RBK50 (Wi-Fi 5) for over a couple years. It has served me very well in terms of coverage and stability, If you prefer more control over various settings you might want to consider something from the Asus AiMesh enabled router lineup. WiFi 6 Mesh routers are also now available.

Thanks Starman and bhuvan for replying , I have ordered the Asus RT AX88U for now , hopefully it will last me 2-3 years.

Asus RT AX88U should most probably fix the issue. If it does not, get a quote from local electrician to lay ethernet cable from router to both rooms. Cost of cable itself will be around 2k.

In rooms, just put a repeater (with ethernet port). This should give you speed up to 1 gbps in each room (If you upgrade braodband in future) .

The rt ax88u more than solved my issue , infact got a neighbour's ac86u and it was also good ( infact same ish) . This dude had imported from Amazon global a year or so back
My parents room is getting 200 mbps instead of the full 300 mbps (200 with ac86u , 220 with ax88u ) , and I'm getting full 340 in my own room with door closed .

Infact given the price difference I would have no issues recommending the ac86u to anybody , still a very relevant router in 2021.
For comparison I had also purchased ( and returned) TP-Link ax20 (ax1800) and it was only giving me 90 mbps in my parent's room.

@MrBlonde How did you connect your new router to Huawei Ont. Did you just disable wifi in Huawei and connected Asus directly or via bridge mode. Thanks in advance.
