Is the bridge mode in BSNL FTTH still working ??

Previously When I bridged the connection I used Mi 4A Gigabit router and after 1-2 months the router some how stopped working/dead and when I copied the MAC ID(Mi router’s) to a openwrt router it doesn’t worked. So I changed bridge to route.

I also tried experimenting bridge mode by cloning the Netlink wan and also ont MAC address but it doesn’t work

I’m also planning to do the bridge connection but I’m worried that backend of bsnl is doing something or not.

The ont is netlink 5ghz but it just overheats and freezes for a moment

Don’t see why it wouldn’t work, the only challenge is with Mac binding. Some ONTs may not work properly if the Mac on the ONT is cloned to your router, it simply stops working.

In that case, you wouldn’t be able to clone the Mac, you would need BSNL to reset Mac binding.

If the current active Mac is of the Mi (and not the ONT), you should be able to clone that to the new router.

You can login to BSNL Selfcare portal to see the active Mac for the last session. Then you can clone the same.
