TATA INDICOM
Hi,

I have Tata Indicom Broadband 128 Kbps Unlimited connection. I just wanted to connect another computer and share internet.
I have been allotted a static Ip from my ISP. (61.17.185.220)

The details are shown below,

Main Computer

IP address : 61.17.185.220
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway : 61.17.185.1

Preferred DNS server : 202.54.6.60
Alternate DNS server : 202.54.29.5

Second computer (to which i need to share internet)

IP address : 192.168.1.3
subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway : 192.168.1.1

I connected the x8821r+ router output to Netgear FS608 v2 switch

I connected both the computers to this switch.

The main system with the Static IP (given by TATA) works fine.

How should i connect the second system and how to configure it. I'm not a tech guy. Please explain like for dummies :)

when i approached customer care people, they asked me to contact a certified network professionals. (They will not guide for the network issues)

Please help. I'm just breaking head for the past two days. :wall:

Please give me step by step procedure. :pleasehelp:

Regards,

I think you are as of now using main computer to dailout using pppoe connection, you need to make your x8821r+ dsl modem to dailout instead of main computer
and assign the static IP to x8821r instead of main computer. your main computer and second computer will have 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3 IP addresses

look at this pdf to see how you can configure your modem to dailout

Thanks merc782. I appreciate it.Somehow my network person managed to connect the extra system through Proxy. Now its working fine. Thanks for your support.
