I presume that after connecting the Sterlite SAM300AX directly to your computer your internet works. Check out Socrates?s experience: How to configure Linksys WRT54G wireless router. I know its for a different router but the method will be the same even though the screen layout is different. Hope it helps.

BTW the link you provided does not work. :D

Hi Socrates,

I was on bridge connection. The problem I'm facing is that the connection drops frequently & reconnection happens only after 1 or 2 hrs.
Below were the setups on Sterlite & Linksys routers.
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/10/20/1524799/SAM300_LinksysWRT110.pdf

Also, I replaced the Sterlite modem with the new one from MTNL & trying to connect using only Sterlite router, but I'm unable to do so. the pwd & username are correct. Below are the current settings on Sterlite
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/10/20/1524799/SAM300.pdf

Please help..it's becoming frustrating

My Post . Stuck in step 1 >(a) Use "Always On mode " Now(b)uncheck mod mode adsl2 + (c) snr attn line mod selected of sam 300ax required. upload Page as Jpg picture . and give link here . (d)Change time zone to gmt +0530 in Linksys enable "Bridged" in modem.(e) post ipconfig /all data for modem router (NO vonage)

Your replacement modem is on PPPoE as seen in your pix.
Does this replacement modem connect to the internet? (Disconnections we will come to later)
Does your Sterlite modem connect to the internet in the PPPoE mode?
I suggest you get the modem working in PPPoE mode & then get the WiFi working (for WiFi check the I gave in the last post), after that connect vonage phone.

For the disconnections there can be many reasons at your end
Check that the tel Wire coming into your house comes first to the splitter of your modem & after that the regular phone should be connected.
Also check wire joints if any for loose connections or oxidation. If this is already done then complain to MTNL about frequent disconnections. As there are many people who are facing this problem & you maybe one more to the list. :icry:

Also post reading of SNR Margins & Line Attenuation.

Here I'm trying to connect to internet using Sterlite in PPOE LLC mode first.
No problem in the line. The MTNL perosn came in the morning & checked with other modem (white one) he got the ADSL link easily. So I changed the modem. But the problem persists. Now first I'm trying to connect using only PPOE.

Hi,

Am I missing any configuration parameters in SAM300AX?

Hi Socrates,

Thanks for such valuable links....I made the changes as per the set up instructions. But still I'm unable to connect. Still it connects after 2 hours or so....
Thinking of buying a new modem....

Does anybody faced such issues before?
