Hi Guys,I have a SAMSUNG 32' LCD TV. I have got BIG TV installed yesterday. But i wonder there is no much difference between the pic quality when i compare with Hathway Digital Cable services.I am using the Component Output for STB to LCD TV. There are totally 5 PINS connecting to my TV. 3 for Video and 2 for Audio input. When i look at the pic in 4:3 ratio, the clarity is too good. It looks crystal clear. But when i view it HD mode ie. 16:9, the display is stretched and i could see the blurrness in the output.I have also changed the display settings in STB to 16:9 but there is no improvements. Also, i am using the schema as "Standard" . The below are the setting i use:Color: 53Backlight: 5Brightness: 45Contrast: 90Sharpness: 40In detailed Setting:DNI - AutoEdge Enhancements: OffDigital NR: AutoColor Temparature: Cool2Color Space: NativeFlash Tone: 0Please help to make my setting correct and let me know how the viewing experience can be improved as i do not find much difference than digital cable tv. I want the output to be crystal in 16:9

unfortunately big tv stb doesnt output in 16:9, despite having the option set to 16:9.so u have no choice but to watch it in 4:3. what cables are using?, are u using the cables provide by big tv.

use component cables instead of av jacks..u have to buy them separately from the market..tht gives u a clear picture

but it won't change the content format, as most SD content is in 4:3 , only for english movies and foreign channels u may get content which is in 16:9 mode:whistle:

try playing with the in-depth settings.try composite cable though they r of inferior quality as compared to component!

I do not think you should expect quality better than digital cable. In all probability digital cable will be at least good as Satellite for SD material. Digital cable too can carry more than 400 channels.I have connected my STB to a projector. On a 110" screen at a distance of 12' it is almost as good as DVD picture at 16:9 aspect ratio. You seem to have most of the stuff correct as far as settings are concerned. You could probably try turning off DNI and Noise Reduction. If that doesn't improve you could try out some good quality Component cables. They do make a difference but do not pay too much for them. After a particular price point it is the law of diminishing returns as far component cable Vs price is concerned.Another thing you could probably try and if you are particular about video quality then you should invest in a Video Essentials DVD for Video and Audio calibration. If you are flush with money then you probably could find an ISF certified technician to adjust your display in Bangalore (you probably have to search hard). The cheapest and quickest way is to invest in good quality cables (if that is a problem) and Video Essentials DVD a.k.a Avia.
