I have a 350watt SMPS and a 17inch CRT monitor. Plus the usual peripherals. Does it mean that my CPU consumes 350 watts continuously irrespective of the actual consumption by the components or does it mean that it can take a load upto 350 watts but only uses up what is required by the various components?

My total came out to 320 watts. Add the monitor and it'll be a cool 450-470 watts. Btw thanx for the link suraj.

LOL, even i have a LG 17inch flatron. Think the start up is like 160 watts and normal running consumption is 100-120 watts.

Actually, is seems dearashwin has had his accountant put up the phone bill as 'legitimate expenditure' under heading of 'business expenditure'. This is where the ITO is going to question the veracity of the bill and going to disallow this expenditure. So he cannot take this expense as deduction from his gross income. Therefore this expenditure gets added back to gross income and taxed accordingly at the relevant slab rate of 30% or whatever. However, if proper presentation is made to show that most of the phone bill arises out of 'business requirement', then upto 60% value is granted as legitimate business expense and the amount is 'not taxed'.

This is not an issue with most home / individual users and its not fair for dearashwin to add 40% tax to represent the actual cost of the broadband service.
