High Latency during Downloads in Netplus Broadband

I used to have Netplus connection from Jan 2024 till June 2025 and during that time I had very stable ping even during downloads. I have old speedtest results as well showing the same.
But now, I have very high latency which causes lags in games or VOIP calls says unstable connection for no reason. I told my ISP about this issue and showing high latency during downloads, all they say is i am saturating whole bandwidth that is why i have high ping and gives solution as upgrading my plan to higher tier.
I had shown old test results to local cluster and told QoS was not implemented properly on their OLT/Gateway but he is not listening (he probably does not know about it at all)
I have a friend in Haryana who have Netplus Broadband as well, but his ping is totally stable during downloads.

Unfortunately not much you can do other than implement QoS yourself on your end or limit your download speed while gaming.

@thatayush that is another alternative, but back then I used to get stable pings even during downloads. They changed to IPv6 that is when they did not enable QoS on their end for Downstream. Here is an screenshot from one of my older speed tests.

Any nodal authority or senior COC where you can take this up? very much a qos issue, PG PORTAL might come in handy if you would like to coerce like it is that magic wand.

@dvjsingh as per the screenshot, you are using mac. So you can reduce those ping spikes by running following command:

sudo ifconfig awdl0 down

to enable airplay back you can just use "up" instead of "down"

This will disable airplay services which often interfere with wifi on macos.

@Kaiju404 i was in contact with Nodal who said they will look into it, then their engineering team always say everything is fine, you are getting proper speed no packet drop then what is the issue? moreover TRAI have not set any guideline regarding latency during downloads/uploads. which makes it harder for me to reach TRAI regarding the same issue. I did research my end and it is definitely issue with their OLT QoS configuration not being set properly.

@Rickysin i know what you are saying here, the tests I performed are on LAN cable, Same issue is present on PC as well. same goes for mobile devices. if you look into other SS i provided it shows stable pings during download and upload tests which i did in 2025.

What is PG Portal?

It a govt run customer grievance redressal website. Be it any issue , lodge any complaint and it gets looked into with priority. Its free use it once it never fails. Can search on yt for more usage, just try it bhai

Upon further testing, I ran test of VOIP basically a Google meet on 3 devices connected to same code. turned off mic on all but kept videos on, 2 devices were on wifi 1 was on mobile data. mobile data device stayed stable video whole time but both wifi ones receiving videos started to lag/stutter during heavy downloads but their output video stayed totally stable. tried same while uploading a file at full bandwidth at that time there was no lag or stutter at all.
Fiber or so called broadband are supposed to give stable VOIP even during high usage right? (never faced this issue when there ping was stable during downloads)
