High latency to Europe

For the past few days, my latency to Europe has been 200-300 ms, whereas it is usually below 150 ms. It seems the AAE-1 ocean cable cut might be causing the issue. Asia Africa Europe-1 (AAE-1). I ran traceroutes from probes, and it appears to primarily affect Airtel and possibly Jio (to some extent). ISPs using Tata as an upstream provider don’t seem to be affected. I just want to confirm with anyone using a Tata upstream ISP whether their latency is normal. Also, if anyone is in Delhi, could you try using Warp (Delhi colocation) and run traceroutes or MTRs to 149.248.60.62 and 95.179.241.106? Please share the results here.

You are right, there seems to be an issue on Airtel since Dec 8. I monitor a few hundred endpoints in India (some are behind Airtel, some behind others) and there was a visible jump. It was not for all Airtel own IPs and downstream.

Your ISP as per profile here - I-ON broadband (I guess AS45769 as website is on it) also seems to be in the impacted list. It's slowly getting back to normal - seems like re-routing happening a bit from sometime.

My latency graphs show that issue got fixed around noon time on Monday. Here's what average latency from EU to hundreds of Indian endpoints (behind a mix of Jio, Airtel, Tata Comm, Sify etc) looks like.
