Got to chance to visit MMX service center yesterday for getting my dad's phone repaired. It wasn't that bad. Though finding the service center was a hard part because the one near my house is nowhere advertised on the official site. It was located right next to the Sony's service center. Later I realised it was just a collection center with neatly furnished and modern furniture and few guys and gals sitting at their lappies having no idea what the inner workings of a mobile are. They just took away the phone and gave a receipt saying that you will get an sms informing when it will come back. The guy at the counter didn't even give an estimate of how long it can take. Anyways around 5.5 hours after that, I got an sms saying that you can collect your phone and the issue has been closed. Whoa, that was quick
Next day I went to collect the phone and to my horror, the problem was still there. (Btw there was a second center on the same floor of the building which is the actual workshop from where I was supposed to collect the phone. Surprisingly nowhere on the two shops, Micromax label or banners have been used. One of the shops just had an A4 sheet pasted saying 'Micromax service center' while the actual workshop was hardly recognisable.) I gave them back the phone and they gave it to an engineer to check it again. This time with the sim cards intact. Around 20 minutes later I was informed that the motherboard is faulty and they will replace it. Should take only 20 minutes more. In the end phone got repaired and the problem finally sorted out. Overall, it wasn't as bad as I had been dreading. Phew.
