My home server setup with Airtel Xstream as main and Jio as backup. I am using TP-Link omada as networking backbone and two used HP PC as NAS and Server. Running proxmox and truenas scale keeping NAS and hoisting services seperate. As of now, I am using AdGuard, nginx proxy manager, omada software controller, collabora and nextcloud.

@Kauban where did you got those AC type fans ? the one where I buy these things only sells the cheap cabinet fans. if possible please share the details of shop


mine is a 6u dlink one but it's very overpacked thinking of getting a bigger one.
also everyone please share where do you guys buy these networking products/ offline + online stores

@anmolbhard004 - the 1U Rack mounted fans are from ‘AC INFINITY’. They are 6 miniature super efficient, silent fans and in my case programmed to kick off at 30 degrees. I bought them from a site Tanotis (prices are inclusive of duty fees + delivery to doorstep).

The other set of fans where my Jio ONU and 5G CPE sits are from Amazon, brand is 4 Dot Fourdot Surface Cooler for Router Play Station Home Theater Music System Model FDRC492

Both brands have various models available, choose based on your requirement. AC Infinity is expensive but super efficient.

@anmolbhard004 I live in an apartment with DG power backup. So, my power never goes out for more then 10 seconds. I just needed something to power the setup so that when the mains goes off, the genererator can kick in and till that time, the I have backup.

About buying equipment, I live in the Bangalore. So, everything used is available in facebook marketplace at a very cheap price. Even a 5-6 lakh server is available at 40K to 70K. So, I bought mostly from offline stores.

@anmolbhard004 you can make simple solution for the fan to kick in at a set temperature. I have made it myself from rack fans available in Amazon. You need a thermostat and few fans and then connect it with the thermostat. You can see from the image I have this one:

and then connect it with this one

Kebilshop AC 220V Cooling Fan 4.75"Inch,(120MM), Axial Metal Black Fan for Networking Rack, Server, Network Enclosure, PC, Electric Panel, Industrial Control Panel, Industrial Machinery(12X12X3.8CM)

Using this two combination, you can set the fan to turn on at set temperature like have done. thermostat

the biggest problem with talking to various distributors is that once you talk to them it becomes a headache to say no to anyone , the way they start calling you everyday and even send you wishes on happy new year . You start to feel guilty on rejecting one.
