Hi,
Every time I call 121 and ask them to close the connection, the immediate CC argues with me that they will solve my concerns.
When I insists for disconnection, the CC says the authority is with seniors and they put me on hold for 15 minutes but still seniors do not come online.
If by chance they come online, they say there's a tech issue and request can not be taken.

airtel is not closing my BB connection. I also told them that if you do not close my connection, you won't be getting the final payment and I will not return the router
I have already written to net@airtel.com as well as CEO.
Let's see what happens.

Airtel aur kitna girega pata nahi

Thanks @anmolbhard004 Finally after more than 1 hour of retries (calling 121) again and again, long holds, fake reasons and all, a senior finally registered my request and I have received SMS with complaint number for disconnection.
Here is their argument and my responses.

A- Why do you want to close the connection
Me - I do not have any requirement
A- In last month you have downloaded 60GB of data (When we request Airtel to share usage, they say they do not maintain it)
Me - Yes but I have become internet addict and I want to get out of that addiction. I have no more requirement
A- So why don't you keep it in safe custody
Me - I do not have any more requirement, Please disconnect
A- I see you have 4 devices connected to router, why do you want to disconnect (They track devices connected to their ONT? don't know if Bridge Mode will prevent that from happening)
Me - Yes but now I do not want Internet. No more requirement. I am okay with mobile Internet on my phone. I just use it to check my emails. I am not on WA, I don't watch OTT and want to get out of this internet addiction
A- So why don't you transfer the connection to friends/family/relatives
Me - No one wants it
A- On your Xstrem plan you have OTT benefits, you will lose them
Me - I don't watch any OTT at all
A- Later if you want it again you will have to pay RS 1500 as installation charges
Me - Tab ki tab dekhi jayegi yaar. Kal ki chinta mat karo, vartaman chal raha hai

Like that he dragged me into an argument to cancel the disconnection. This went on for long 15 minutes. He was not ready to initiate request
Finally I told him one thing, Sir I think you have not understood what I requested. I am sorry, I will explain it again. I want to disconnect the BB connection.
This did the trick. He promptly initiated disconnection.

In March-24 I availed Tata Play Fiber. And in last 3 months it has never been down even for 1 minute.
I had already shared an incident on this forum in March-24. That was the key reason for me to go for Tata and eventually disconnect Internet. Had that not happened, I might still have continued with Airtel despite it has degraded so much.

In March-24 they upgraded the infrastructure. During that time and thereafter my Internet was down. I was told that there's an outage and no request was registered.
After 2 - 3 days it was still down and they reluctantly registered an SR. No engineer contacted me for several days, despite complaints to 121.
Then I got an SMS that your connection is getting shifted as per your request and they charged me RS 300 as shifting charges. It took me one month of follow-up to reverse the charges.

The mess was that they had changed the OLT and the new OLT was not interoperable with my Airtel Provided ONT F670L.
It took them more than 6 days to figure this out.
This is worst change management and impact analysis and lack of subject matter expertise.
That was the incident that resulted into me switching to Tata.
The only sad part is I wanted to close the working connection. Since last 2 days it's again down and no engg called me despite scheduled visit. Nor he ever picked any of my calls. 121 just kept on pushing it to another 24 hours.

With any isp just say you are moving abroad, any other reason becomes an argument.

Always send an email ticket to start the trail. Keep appellate authority of your region in cc.

Until your connection is disconnected and billing stopped, you may have to follow up again. Now same questions and excuses will be made by retention team.

I have kept appellate, customer experience team and CEO in loop.
I have very clearly told them that I do not want any calls from the Retention team. If they call, they will not be answered!!
Even if you say going abroad, their scripted argument is why not take safe custody or why not give the connection to your relatives/family/friends and like that. Anyways as soon as my TC says Airtel, I am not going to pick up any calls now at all.

And the spam calls from airtel retention team have started to come...

I had same experience with Act few months ago. They had the audacity to tell me they won't disconnect.

Had to yell at them after getting very frustrated for a week.

lol, you absolutely do not have to explain jack shit to them. Whenever they ask something just say "I want to close my connection". Keep repeating that until they get sick of it and close connection.

All payments are to be made by the prescribed due date. All non-cash payments are subject to realization. Payment beyond due date shall entail late fees as prescribed by Airtel from time to time and taxes thereon. The same shall be payable from the due date till actual realization of payment. Any delayed payments by the Customer entitle Airtel to withdraw any applicable discount! Benefit. This however is without prejudice to the right of Airtel to suspend or disconnect and the Service partially of fully due to non-payment for restoring the Services, the Customer shall have to apply for reactivation of the connection, after making the due payment and the applicable restoration charges.

I think you can just stop paying for the connection and after few months they will automatically disconnect it. There is nothing written regarding Agent coming to collect Money or any other Legal action can occur on you. (As per T&C by Airtel)
