How Do I configure WiFi router ??

Hi !! I am new to this forum and this is my first post.I am using Hathway Broadband in Mumbai.Earlier I was on static IP issued by Hathway, but now Hathway has instructed me to use DHCP ( Obtain IP automatically ) setting. Hathway has given me Scientific Atlanta cable modem.I have a Belkin 802.11g wireless router. (model : F5D7230-4 )I tried connceting : Hathway Cabel Modem to Belkin router (at 'internet/WAN' port ) using CAT5 (straight) and Belkin Router to my PC ( at one of the 4 ports using CAT5 Straight ). The Router was set on DHCP enabled. and My PC settings set to 'obtain IP automatically.Internet did not work, niether on my PC, nor on my Laptop, connected wirelessly. The Hathway customer support could not provide me with siolution saying that "contact your engineer. we can not provide with support since this is a personal router. and that there is no problem from Hathway side"Can anyone please let me know Step-By-Step how to solve the above problem???
