How do I enable bridge mode in this thing?

I recently converted my Home dsl to fiber. Now I am using fibrsol FS-1G-EONU as a modem router configuration. It gets the job done unless I download something, latency jumps to 500 ms from around 47 ms. I googled it and it is called bufferbloat. Is this a problem with BSNL or my onu? I called the fiber guy and he gave me one of his spare DBC router which has bridge mode. Then I use my TP-Link router in PPPOE mode. And now the latency is even worse than earlier. I would like to put my modem in bridge mode but I can't find the settings for it. It has only route facility. We had railwire earlier and they somehow managed to put it in brdge mode so it must have it somehow. Can anyone help? It is possible to configure it from isp side?

Basically latency jumps up as you saturate your bandwidth. If you are reaching ~100% of the plan speed during download, latency will increase. There are QOS settings available on many high end routers, but what they effectively do is either cap the maximum download speed so that bandwidth is not saturated or prioritize the packets for ICMP (ping), wifi calling, etc.
If you are not reaching the plan speed then it is BSNL problem.
 
Yes as I saturate the bandwidth, the latency increases. But I didn't encounter anything like this before. And my tiny onu don't have such features, i.e why I want to set it up in bridge mode.
 
On BSNL the loaded latency is actually quite high in comparison to other ISPs. Mine goes above 250ms on load in bsnl, Whereas in jio its around 40-60ms and my local isp is around 15-20ms.
 
Can you guys please check whether it is the for you? You can do a speedtest on fast.com and report the loaded ping on BSNL fiber.
 
The images you shared are not accessible publicly. The latency is fine, previously there used to be some bufferbloat management from BSNL side and latency was low. Now we get 20-30 Mbps more than the subscribed speed but there is no bufferbloat management. If you have a router that supports hardware accelerated NAT then it might help a little but we hardly saturate the connection most of the time. Alternative is SQM in openwrt.
 
fast.com - unloaded 5ms, loaded 226ms. speed.cloudflare.com - unloaded 14ms, during download 42.5ms. On good days cloudflare gives 13ms unloaded, 15ms loaded and fast.com around 60ms loaded.
BSNL is not ideal for latency/routing and latency fluctuate all the time and it may not be solved completely even with own router.
If you can find the firmware (risky) or workaround that enables bridge mode that would be great because not much information is available online on that model. Maybe fibrsol will share the firmware if you ask them.
The workaround to edit in browser and manually add Bridged option and save is something you could test. If you can disable NAT or setup DMZ that is also a good 2nd option.
BSNL doesn’t have any standardized ONTs and it’s upto local BSNL people. Basically local BSNL people will be able to help, you need to check with them. If they have a firmware to enable bridge mode or another ONT that supports bridge mode or if you could buy one on own and ask them to whitelist the serial number.
