How do I ensure that I buy a never used Prepaid number from Airtel?

Guys, I am going to purchase a new Prepaid connection and for that is there any way to check if anyone used to own that number before?

One way is to check truecaller, but what about others?

but most numbers are recycled so I think it will be hard to find a unused one from Airtel,

Jio won't have many recycled numbers so you could get a JIO sim and port it later to Airtel or you could try those 'special VIP' numbers like 999999XXXX

I guess Truecaller is the only way by which you can check. Im not sure about this but you can try requesting the guy at Airtel gallery to give you a new number instead of recycled one.

What about a 7X or 6X series? Aren't the chances of them being fresh a bit higher?

Also, another idea is to check for that number on whatsapp, i,e. if it ever has joined.

Right. 7 and 6 are new series. My Jio number starts with 7 and was new (assumed as I wasn't spammed).
