Can anyone explain how fivenet works? I know for a fact that there is a service provider in each area. So are there two set of ip addresses? one for the provider and one when we log on to the fivenet network via PPPoe ? The provider has to be a part of the fivenet network to login with its server. isnt that the case?can anyone shed light on the connectivity between the provider and fivenet?

yes there is a reseller [service provider] in each area.[aka local cablewalla].I saw one day tht only one IP adderss was present in my friend's PC. It was a WAN IP. fivnet uses PPPOE to connect. So we get dynamic IPs.But I guess we can create new networks in fivenet...by adding IP addresses in TCP/IP properties[uncommon]

Thx fore replying. i was initially on 24/7 before i switched over to fivenet. Regarding dymanic ip addresses, ive noticed that my ip address always remains the same. Ideally it should be dynamaic, right?

actually even my friend told that for some days for now.. His IP has remained static.. But its good for u only... :) Static is always better than Dynamic.
