How does Govt spend money of 3G auction?

They are supposed to use money got from 3G spectrum auction for expanding IPTV network right?. Any progress in that?

IP TV is the least of priorities for the govt. There are loads of other things like infrastructure development, education, health care and the like.

Somewhere I read that Govt will use that money for laying cables for IPTV.

Govt does own any network. The closest they get to is BSNL. I don't think it would be fair to divert money from other companies to BSNL. Just like diverting tax payers money to bail out Air India is nonsense. Then again, lot of things are not fair.

Looks like Govt is sore after getting 9k odd crores instead of estimated 28k crores.
