Hi I am a BSNL mobile postpaid user, I am thinking of getting 199/- unlimited GPRS plan.I have few queries about it.What is speed and quality of service?I am going to surf internet on my windows mobile(HTC Touch), is it good enough for browsing on phone?I have a seperate dataone connection to browse from PC. I am a business user. Can anyone shed some light on it?

i have same questions

I am having a bsnl prepaid, using gprs on a SE W830i phone. and get about 3-4KBPS(24-32kbps).Since december connectivity has been very reliable in hyderabad. Earlier never used to get connected(used to get connected like once 2 months). But since december connectivity is good. never had a problem with it.check connectivity in ur area before u take a unlimited plan.

BSNL's offering is GPRS or EDGE(more speed on EDGE enabled devices) ?Can anyone confirm?

here in UP WEST circle bsnl edge gprs is working very fine. Here is the some speed tests by me.day time 8am to 6 pm download speed between 12 kB/s to 18 KB/s ( 122kbps to 147 kbps)evening time after 6pm to 10pm download speed between 10 KB/s to 14 KB/s (80 to 114kbps) i don know why its slow down in evening hours.after 11pm onwards speed at its best from 24 KB/s to 29 KB/s (196 to 245 kbps)i have not tested speeds at 2 or 3am in morning but i think its more than 200kbps bcoz when i put a 1gb file to download on my ipaq pocket pc at 11pm i always have completely downloaded file in morning hours when i wake up( 7am)i use bluetooth connectivity to acces internet on my laptop.i hope this helps :)bye for now

I've used BSNL GPRS 199 for a few months...It supports EDGE even in villages and thats great..However download speeds are only 2~3 KB/sAnd yeah,Customer care is crap... they needed TWO MONTHS just to activate it! and it also stops working very often! damm

i had MTNL sim card with me and GPRS working in mumbai, but GPRS didnt work at all once i went in BSNL network.
