hey anyone on forum got Gmaps on Win8.Is GPS on Gmaps atlest for Delhi any good ?I just came from jangpura and wanted to head towards Siri fort but was totally confused at some places was just wondering if GPS in cell would really give me pin point directions to the place ?

Yes GMaps are pretty decent. I just visited a remote area in Greater Noida a few days ago, had absolutely no idea about the way. just followed the GPS directions. Which WP device BTW? because if it is Nokia, it would have their GPS system which is supposed to be pretty decent.

Nokia 620 I was thinking of getting later on...nokia 620 I was thinking of getting later on...

well I just had lunch with guy carrying g3 note I think and he was asking for direction so I was just wondering :p

so i went to panipat yesterday. a cousin owns the first generation note. and he was talking about how he got lost in gurgaon last time he was here.

showed him google navigation on his phone. he was impressed of course. but i am sure he is not techie enough to remember it next time he gets lost in a city.

most people have no idea on how to use GPS. someone I know who has an iPhone 5 didn't even know what GPS is.

yeap. a nephew owns the iphone 5. first question i asked him was whether he had installed google maps on it. his reaction? what do i need it for?

If you are asking just about gMaps (unofficial app for Google Maps on Windows Phone), I would say its pretty good app. Locks to GPS in seconds (if outdoor), but indoors as well in seconds it will show current location. We can also search route to any location from current location. But gMaps doesn't have voice guided navigation or offline navigation.
