How much early can we renew passport ?

Not sure if this is the right forum section. I need to know how much early can one renew the passport ?My passport expires in 2015. Can I renew it now ?

Ok so I cannot get it done now ??
Also what happens say when I am in a foreign country and my passport is going to expire soon and I have to stay more in that country ?
Can nothing be done ?

Yes. Definitely. Mind sharing the country where you would be? Or you can yourself search the official site of Indian embassy/high commission in the country. They would have the procedure listed as well.

I don't know the country but consider USA

I had renewed my passport in 7 years as the details was handwritten by officials and it had evaporated.

Ok so I read online and yes passport renewal can be done while being overseas.

it depends on ur purpose of stay , if u are going to Canada for studies then u need to have passport validity for ur whole academic period

for USA , its the same one year period before expiration
