How the F do I get Mi Music or Google Music app to detect music on SD Card?

I cannot see a Music folder for Mi Music app. It is not automatically detecting music from folders I copied to the SD card.

I uploaded music to this folder:
This PC\HM NOTE 1LTEW\SD card\Android\data\com.google.android.music\files
And it appeared in Google Play Music app for a while And then disappeared.

try creating folder named "Music" under SD Card and copy files in that folder

Right. Did it for the lulz and it worked. Magically. Phone should have created the folder itself when I set the music to be stored in external storage after mounting it
